Personalised Learning Pathways (PLPs)

Personalised Learning Pathways (PLPs) are an important part of how we work in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families. A PLP provides an opportunity for families, students and teachers to come together and talk about the student as a whole.

PLPs are not simply about academic results. They provide an opportunity for families to share information about their child that can help the school better understand and support them.

Teachers work with students and families to identify individual strengths, areas for development, interests and goals. Families are encouraged to share their knowledge, hopes and aspirations for their child.

Cultural Breakfasts provide opportunities for students to:

• Connect with other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
• Celebrate their culture and identity
• Develop positive relationships with staff and community
• See their families actively involved in school life
• Build confidence and a sense of belonging
• Celebrate their achievements and strengths

These events help create a school community where students can feel proud of who they are, connected to their culture and connected to Mascot Public School.
