Sista Speak

Sista Speak is a dedicated opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls to come together with other local schools, in a supportive and culturally safe environment.

It provides students with a space to yarn, connect, share experiences and develop their confidence while strengthening their connection to culture and community.

Through Sista Speak, students participate in conversations, activities and experiences that focus on areas such as identity, relationships, wellbeing, confidence, culture and future aspirations.

Students are encouraged to share their thoughts and experiences and listen to the perspectives of others. Activities are designed to build positive relationships and create a strong sense of connection between students.

Sista Speak also provides an opportunity for students to learn from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and community members and develop an understanding of the strength and importance of culture and identity.

The program provides students with an opportunity to feel heard, supported and proud of their identity.
