Incidents
Mascot Public School is committed to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels respected, valued and supported. Our Behaviour Support and Management Plan outlines the processes we follow when responding to incidents, with a focus on ensuring concerns are addressed fairly, consistently and thoughtfully. Mascot Public School believes in the value of restorative practice, which encourages students to reflect on their actions, understand the impact of their behaviour on others, take responsibility and work towards repairing relationships. Through this approach, we aim to support positive relationships, promote accountability and strengthen our school community.
Listed below are Mascot Public School’s definitions of minor and major incidents, including examples of each and the possible consequences. When responding to incidents, teachers and executive staff consider each student’s individual circumstances, including their developmental level and any relevant diagnoses, to ensure that responses and consequences are appropriate, fair and supportive.
